This is the story of Tex, the adirondack chair.. Tex was listed on Craigslist, and no one seemed to want him. Just because he was a hand painted adirondack chair, with the image of a big brawny cowboy on the front and lots of little handpainted flowers on the seat, he was passed by.
Then, along came the nurse and the paramedic who had been looking for some adirondack chairs to put on their patio. Tex was overjoyed... FINALLY someone wanted to drive 70 miles in a borrowed pickup truck to take him to his new home!
And they did come, and he was placed lovingly in the back of the pickup truck and away they went, off to his new home and hopefully a brand new paint job....
But then, the UNTHINKABLE happened!! Tex FLEW out of the back of the pickup and landed on the highway, and broke into smithereens.......
The nurse was sad, the paramedic was sad, and there, on the highway Tex will stay... forever.
RIP Tex.....
note to self... tie down chairs when you are transporting them in the back of a pickup. Even heavy wooden chairs..
Oh poor Tex! Just when he found a home and some folks to love him, he took a fall and broke his neck. Sorry to hear of his demise!

ReplyDeleteAnd sad. Those chairs are too expensive to buy new. You wouldn't think that would have happened.
